BREDEX GmbH has released version 8.1 of Jubula, the free open source testing tool, on
http://testing.bredex.de. Jubula is a tool that lets testers automate tests without writing program code.
The aim of Jubula 8.1 is to improve the communication between testers, test automators and developers. The following features have been added to achieve this:
1. Java API
In response to a customer request, BREDEX GmbH developed an API to allow Jubula tests to be written in Java code. Developers who use Java can now be quickly integrated into quality assurance and automated testing with Jubula. Team members without programming experience can still create tests using the traditional Jubula workflows and actions.
The new release also provides new options for reporting test results to tools such as HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and Jira. Jubula 8.1 can not only transmit test result reports to HP ALM and Jira, but can also alter the status of tasks in these systems based on the test results. Manually updating the status of requirements and tasks is no longer necessary.
In addition to such wider-reaching changes, there have been updates and improvements throughout the tool to add new functionality and make certain workflows more comfortable.
